The shape of toric contact lenses creates different refractive or focusing, powers on the vertical and horizontal orientations. The toric lens is custom-made.

How long does the surgery take?

Quite painlessly, monofocal toric lens replacement surgery is performed in an ambulatory setting during which an optical element (intraocular lens) is permanently implanted in the eye. The surgery is performed in local anaesthesia. The natural lens is painlessly crushed with ultrasound and removed through a microincision. Our experienced eye surgeon implants a new high-quality Acrysof IOL toric lens.

What methods do you offer?

The price quoted is for a standard method where a small incision is made by our experienced eye surgeon. We also offer a so-called femtosecond laser-assisted surgery where the incision is performed by a femtosecond laser LenSx hence achieving even greater precision and faster recovery times.

What IOL lenses are available?

We stock many types of lenses and lens implants. Most popular are Alcon Acrysof lenses and Zeiss lenses. The standard monofocal toric lens replacement surgery is performed with Alcon Acrysof toric lenses.
