Egg donation is one of the types of fertility treatment. Doctors tend to suggest this option when it is impossible for the couple to conceive the natural way and IVF treatment with their own eggs is not suitable for them either, for various reasons.

Luckily, our professional team is here for couples who find themselves in this situation.

Praga Medica offers the services of highly experienced doctors and consultants who will guide you through the process.

Procedure details

The following egg donation packages represent different options depending on your specific needs. Don’t worry, our consultants will guide you through this process.

The Timeline

  • Patients usually spend 2 – 3 nights in Prague. If the patient prefers two visits, the first one is only a day for the initial consultation, the second visit is for the embryo transfer. If the patient has all tests done upon arrival, the visit might take only 2 days.

  • Day 1: Initial consultation, gynaecological examination, paperwork, payment, signatures, the male partner may leave if necessary.

  • Day 2: 5 transfers of embryos (depending on their previous cultivation)

  • We recommend relaxing for at least for 24 hours after the transfer, before flying back home.

  • Egg Donation: Scenario 1 - Shared Care

This option is ideal for patients who require flexibility and transfer of one embryo only, are on a tight budget, or simply do not require a specific egg donor.

This is the quickest and cheapest way to get pregnant with donor eggs. Chances of pregnancy after 1 embryo transfer are between 50% - 60%. In most cases, 2 patients share 1 donor. Because the prediction of the day of the embryo transfer is not dependent on the stimulation of a specific donor, but rather a group of donors, it allows us to plan your stay in a more flexible way. Surplus embryos for freezing and future use are not that common in this program.

Egg Donation: Scenario 2 - Specific Donor

This would suit those couples, who require a specific egg donor and require a transfer of embryos.

This option maximizes your chances to get pregnant from 1st attempt. A specific egg donor is prepared for you, which enables matching some of the donor´s characteristics. Surplus embryos for freezing and future use are common in this program, but not guaranteed. Chances of pregnancy after 1 fresh and 1 frozen embryo transfer (1 donor) is over 70%.

    Who the Donors Are

We only use eggs from anonymous volunteer donors that have been carefully preselected and tested. In order to guarantee a high quality of donor eggs, our donor undergoes series of examinations concerning their health, psychological state and genetics. This includes, besides other things, tests for cystic fibrosis and sexual health screening, to avoid any risk of AIDS (HIV test), hepatitis B (HbSAg, anti-HBc antibodies), hepatitis C (anti-HCV antibodies), or lues (syphilis).

Our egg donors are Czech women (Caucasian race = pale skin) under 35 years old. With certain packages, you can request a specific colour of eyes or colour of hair, as well as a certain body height and weight of the egg donor. Fertility treatment through the method of Egg Donation (Donor Oocytes) provided by an anonymous donor is fully legal in the Czech Republic.
