Dental Implants

In case you are missing a tooth or your teeth need to be extracted, you will be offered dental implants. This procedure asks in general for 3 separate visits resulting in perfect teeth.

Are dental implants removable like dentures or do they stay in your mouth?

arrow-procedures

No, dental implants are permanently fixed into the jawbone, providing a stable and secure foundation for replacement teeth. They look, feel, and function just like natural teeth, with no need to remove them.

Are there any contraindications for implantation?

arrow-procedures

Dental implants are not suitable for everyone. They are contraindicated in cases such as autoimmune diseases, weakened or suppressed immune systems, osteoporosis and other bone disorders, active cancer, or serious cardiovascular diseases (e.g., recent heart attack, valvular disease, heart failure).

Implants are also not recommended for patients who smoke, abuse drugs or alcohol, take anticoagulant medication, have uncontrolled diabetes, or are awaiting an organ transplant.

Your suitability for implant treatment will always be confirmed after a detailed consultation and a 3D scan.

Can I have a Dental Implant after a tooth extraction?

arrow-procedures

Yes. In many cases, a dental implant can be placed immediately after a tooth is extracted — during the same procedure. This approach helps preserve bone and shortens the overall treatment time.

If your tooth has already been removed, it’s usually necessary to wait about three months before implant placement to allow proper healing of the gum and bone. Once the healing process is complete, the implant can be safely and securely placed.

Do you provide any guarantee for the implants?

arrow-procedures

Yes. We offer a 2-year guarantee for both the implant and the prosthetic restoration. With proper care and regular dental check-ups, this guarantee can be extended beyond the initial period. Please note that travel expenses related to any corrective visits are not covered.

How do dental implants help if I have full dentures or partial dentures?

arrow-procedures

Dental implants are especially beneficial for patients who wear full or partial dentures. They can be used to anchor a removable overdenture that securely snaps onto the implants, eliminating movement and reducing the need for adhesives. Alternatively, implants can support a fixed denture, which is permanently attached to the implants with titanium components and can only be removed by a dentist. Both options provide greater stability, comfort, and confidence when speaking and eating.

How long does a dental implant last?

arrow-procedures

With proper care and maintenance, a dental implant can last more than 25 years — and in many cases, for life. Implants are designed to be a permanent tooth replacement and are not affected by decay like natural teeth. However, healthy gums are essential for long-term success. Consistent home care, along with regular professional cleanings and check-ups, helps ensure their longevity. Each patient is unique, and the outcome depends on proper diagnosis, medical history, and individual oral health.

How much do dental implants cost, and does insurance cover them?

arrow-procedures

The cost of replacing a single tooth with a dental implant is generally comparable to that of a traditional fixed bridge. Some insurance plans may partially cover dental implant treatment, but coverage varies by provider and policy. The final cost depends on individual factors such as bone quality, the number of implants needed, and overall treatment complexity. Your dentist will provide a detailed assessment and cost estimate based on your specific needs.

Is getting a dental implant painful?

arrow-procedures

No, the procedure itself is not painful, as it is performed under local anaesthesia to ensure complete comfort. After the surgery, it is normal to experience mild soreness or swelling for a few days — this is part of the healing process. Any discomfort is usually minimal and easily managed with over-the-counter pain relief.

What are Dental Implants?

arrow-procedures

A dental implant is not a tooth itself, but an artificial root used to replace a missing one. It’s a small titanium post inserted into the jawbone to support a crown, bridge, or denture. Once the implant fuses with the bone, an abutment is attached to connect the implant to the artificial tooth.

Each implant restoration consists of three parts: the implant, the abutment, and the crown. Before the final crown is placed, a healing cylinder is often used to help the gums adapt naturally to the new tooth.

What are the advantages of dental implants?

arrow-procedures

Dental implants are a long-lasting solution for replacing one or more missing teeth caused by decay or gum disease. They restore both function and appearance, allowing you to eat comfortably, smile confidently, and enjoy an active lifestyle without concern. Made from durable titanium, dental implants are resistant to decay and can last a lifetime with proper care.

What brand of implants do you use?

What is a 3D or CAT Scan?

arrow-procedures

A 3D or CAT scan is an advanced dental X-ray that provides a detailed three-dimensional view of your teeth and jawbone. It allows the dentist to accurately assess bone width and height, ensuring safe, precise, and predictable implant placement. This technology also enables digital treatment planning for optimal results.

What is computer guided implant surgery?

arrow-procedures

Computer-guided implant surgery uses advanced digital technology to ensure precise placement of dental implants. Using cone-beam CT scans and specialised software, X-ray images and impressions are combined to create a 3D model of your jaw. This allows the dentist to visualise the exact position of each implant and plan the procedure with exceptional accuracy. The result is a safer, faster, and more comfortable treatment with minimal pain and a shorter healing time.

What is the success rate of dental implants?

arrow-procedures

The success rate of dental implants depends on individual health and oral hygiene habits. For healthy patients who maintain good dental care, implants are highly reliable, with success rates typically exceeding 90–95%.
