Frequently asked questions

Aesthetic Dentistry

Aesthetic dentistry gives you a smile makeover. During the procedure, a cosmetic dentist will work with you to find the most suitable treatment plan.

Do you provide any guarantee for the veneers and crowns?

arrow-procedures

Our clinic provides a 2-year guarantee for the crowns and veneers. If your veneers are damaged in any way that was not your fault we will replace them for free. This is contingent of your good care of veneers and regular dental hygiene. The travelling costs are always covered by the client.

Does the treatment hurt?

arrow-procedures

Our patients are numbed for the veneering process with local anesthetics. There should be no pain during the procedure once numbness takes effect. With smaller cases (two or four veneers) there will be very little or no discomfort after the numbness subsides. Patients should expect some soreness of the gums and possibly the jaw in cases that involve eight or more veneers.

How do I get veneers to match my other teeth?

arrow-procedures

Most people get their veneers in a whiter shade than their natural teeth and then undergo tooth whitening to create a matching aesthetic. However, this procedure does not secure 100% match. The ideal way to have the desired result is to treat all the visible teeth with veneers.

How do I look after my veneers?

arrow-procedures

Brushing two times each day for two minutes, flossing daily, and wearing a bite guard at night are great ways to protect the veneers. It is also beneficial to avoid eating very hard foods like nuts or cracking shells with the front veneers.

How durable are porcelain veneers? How long do the veneers last?

arrow-procedures

With proper care, porcelain veneers will brighten your smile for well over a decade.

Our dentists will ensure that your veneers are crafted from the highest quality porcelains and are bonded with the most advanced and proven materials available.

Refraining from using your veneers as tools to open and cut things will prolong their life, and if accidental breakage or damage occurs, it is usually possible to replace only the veneer involved.

Veneers do not require any special care other than regular brushing, flossing, and visits to the dentist. Professional cleanings every 6 months and yearly exams are highly recommended.

How long do I need to stay to get a Hollywood smile?

arrow-procedures

You can get a Hollywood smile (full mouth of veneers or crowns) in 2 days' time. The biggest advantage of our clinic is that we have a laboratory on-site. Ideally, we would need you also the 3rd day for a checkup and bite adjustment.

How long does it take to fit a dental crown/dental veneer?

arrow-procedures

Fitting a crown or veneer requires one visit to our clinic. We will first remove decay, shape the tooth, and then fit and adjust the crown or veneer. Finally, we will cement the crown/veneer into place and you have a new beautiful-looking tooth in a few hours.

How long will the results of teeth whitening last?

arrow-procedures

Like other investments, if you whiten your teeth, the length of time you can expect it to last will vary. If you smoke, drink red wine or coffee, or consume other acid-containing foods, your bright smile may begin to yellow more quickly than you expect. In general, a teeth whitening procedure can last up to a few years. And even though the results can fade, occasional touch-ups can be done to regain luster.

How many veneers do I need?

arrow-procedures

Our dentists will recommend you an ideal number of veneers based on your bite and the width of your smile. We will need pictures of your teeth for this assessment. It is a good idea to have an even number of veneers. Two, four, eight, ten, or twelve veneers give the best aesthetic results.

What happens if one of my veneers or crowns falls off?

arrow-procedures

Sometimes this happens, although it’s rare. Please try to save the veneer and contact our office. We will schedule you for a free treatment, where the veneer will be put on back as soon as possible. Your tooth may be sensitive to cold foods or liquids when the veneer is off. Or you can contact any local dentist that will be able to cement the veneer or crown back (in case it wasn´t damaged).

What involves a dental veneers treatment?

arrow-procedures

At the initial consultation, the dentist looks at whether all the root canals of the teeth are healthy with no cavities. Then the X-Ray is done. Our highly-qualified dentist always discusses clients' expectations, the colour of the teeth, shape, and any doubts or questions. The LAB technician joins the initial consultation to secure the technical part of the veneer production. The whole process of teeth preparation takes about 2 - 3 hours when a small piece of the enamel is prepared. It takes another 2 - 3 hours to make the veneers in the LAB. Then the veneers´ try-on is proceeded, where they are placed with a temporary fix to see if the client likes the result or to make additional desired changes. If the client is happy with the result, the dentist attaches the veneers with permanent cement. The whole jaw treatment requires one full day.

What is the most common reason to have veneers replaced?

arrow-procedures

The porcelain veneer is very strong and should not break under normal circumstances. If gum recession occurs the root of the tooth may become exposed. Patients may want new veneers to cover the roots. The integrity of veneered teeth is marginally compromised, and the veneer is bonded to the existing teeth. There is no higher incidence of decay provided that the veneers are properly cared for as detailed above, regular brushing with toothpaste, and flossing.

In order to maintain your veneers for the longest time possible, it is good to stop all bad teeth habits, such as nail-biting, straw chewing, fork nibbling, opening bags with teeth, pulling on clothing or gloves with teeth, and anything that will put undue stress on the veneers.

What materials and technology do you use?

arrow-procedures

We use the CAD/CAM Cerec technology and porcelain (full-ceramic) materials.

CAD/CAM stands for “computer-aided design / computer-aided manufacturing”. Our dentists use CAD/CAM systems to design and create crowns, bridges, dentures, and other prostheses more quickly than was possible before.

Using advanced 3D printing technology, CAD/CAM turns a computer model into physical reality. This system enables us to provide treatments, such as crowns and veneers, in a single visit.

Will I need gum contouring/gum surgery?

arrow-procedures

In some veneer and crown cases, contouring the gums will give a better cosmetic outcome. It is done to create symmetry and lengthen short teeth. Most gum contouring causes no additional discomfort during or after treatment. We use laser gum surgery for this purpose.
